Year 2 Colour Mixing Inspired by Quentin Blake 6.10.21

As part of our work in Art we have been inspired by Quentin Blake and are learning about mixing colours and especially doing this with watercolours like he did in the many books he illustrated.  Did you know he has written or illustrated over 500 books!  

 

This week we learned about the primary colours (red, yellow and blue) and that when you mix them you can make other colours known as secondary colours (green, purple and orange). We all explored mixing colours and used this knowledge to create our own colour wheel to show both the primary colours and secondary colours.   Once we had mixed the colours we used them to paint in the style of Quentin Blake.
