Y6 Rounders Competition 3.7.24

In the Summer term the Y6 children focus on striking and fielding games like rounders and cricket in their PE lessons.  We were invited to play Homelands in an inter-school rounders competition organised by the Sports Leaders from St Cuthbert Mayne.  The Y6 children loved the opportunity to compete against another school from the same area.  We were able to take 30 children, split into 2 teams of 15.  The children were organised into an A and B team.  All of the teams played each other and the A team won, winning all of their games and scoring a massive 31 rounders in total.  The B team came third.  They had lots of fun developing their skills and experiencing competition.  All the children played with 100% effort and some of their performances were so good they were recognised as being as good as Y7/Y8 players.  Jake received a special mention for his high skill level and hitting the ball, Joe was praised for showing excellent sporting values and Lily-Ella was also praised for her fielding skills and persevering.  Well done to St Margaret’s, we are very proud of you.
