In our Deaf Awareness Week this week we have had an assembly where Year 3 Holly class demonstrated animal signs they have been practising to the rest of the school. The whole school practised the signs together. During the week each class has had a session with the Teacher of the Deaf where they have worked on finger spelling, numbers, watched signing videos or discussed issues related to deaf awareness.
The children at St. Margaret's have a good understanding of deaf-related issues and practise signing regularly as there are several children that use BSL at the school.
