Y2 Oak - Muddy Dinners and Fallen Apple Tree 5.1.24

Well what an eventful Forest School session we had on Friday!  We couldn't believe our eyes when we walked into the orchard to find our beloved (and final) apple tree on the floor.  The high winds and very soggy orchard floor had worked together to pull our poor tree to the ground.  We had a good chat about why it had happened and what would have to happen to the tree.  We talked about how we could use the branches to make firewood and dens once they have been cut down and the children were very excited about that.  After the dramatic start, the children soon got into some superb tree climbing and puddle splashing. They made some delicious muddy dinners and enjoyed the slide.
