On Wednesday, Year 1 walked to a local copse, know as Millienium Green in St Marychurch. All the children were dressed for wet weather but it stayed dry for us and we had a great time exploring the area. The children were excited to spot bat boxes, bird boxes and a bug hotel. They found lots of minibeasts and spotted some of the first signs of spring, including new ‘baby’ plants and some lovely yellow daffodils. The children were so well behaved and loved being out in nature with their friends.
If you have the chance to visit the copse, it is at the end of Chilcote Close car park and can also be accessed fro St Marychurch Road. We plan to take the children back in the summer to see how the area changes across the seasons.
