Gymnastic Success in the Devon Virtual Games Nov 2020

Gymnastics – Virtual County Finals

At the beginning of the autumn term, the School Games organisers launched the Devon Virtual Games to replace all face-to-face competitions.  We passionately believe that being active is as important as ever and we are continuing to support the games by encouraging as many children as possible to participate in the virtual games.  Since the children returned back to school in September all of the children in Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 have participated in many virtual competitions, including Gymnastics Sequence, Cross Country, Sportshall Athletics and Games Skills.  The children completed these competitions at school in their PE lessons and the results have been recorded and entries submitted to the School Games organisers.  I am pleased to confirm that we have received the results for the Gymnastics competition and some of our school entries have made it through to the Devon Autumn Virtual Games final. The gymnasts will attend the virtual finals which will be taking place next Tuesday.  The finalists are:

Y3/4

Rookie Gymnastics Routine – Lily-Ella

Bronze Gymnastics Routine – Ellie

Y5/6

Silver Gymnastics Routine – Tamsin

Gold Gymnastics Routine – Olivia-Mae

Congratulations to the gymnasts on making it through to the Devon Autumn Virtual Games Final. There were over 1700 children from all over Devon taking part, so it’s a great achievement to get this far!  Best of luck and our fingers and toes will remain crossed for them.
