Y5/6 Rounds Competition Success 18.5.23

In the Summer term the Y6 children focus on striking and fielding games like rounders and cricket in their PE lessons.  One of the biggest competitions between the local schools in our cluster is rounders.  The children played in an inter-school competition organised by the Sports Leaders from St Cuthbert Mayne.  The Y6 children loved the opportunity to compete against other schools from the same area.  We were able to take 30 children, split into 2 teams of 15.  The children were organised into an A and B team.  All of the teams played each other and the A team won the group, winning all of their games and the B team came second.  They had lots of fun developing their skills and experiencing competition.  All the children played with 100% effort and some of their performances were so good they were recognised as being as good as Y9/Y10 players.  Adam received a special mention for his determination and Jake was praised for showing excellent sporting values.  Well done St Margaret’s, we are very proud of you.
