Linking our Pupils to the Deaf Education Centre in Plymouth 29.6.22

On 29 June two of our BSL users from the Hearing Support Centre and their support staff from St. Margaret's went to visit another school with a deaf education centre. Our pupils joined with  children from Eggbuckland Vale Primary School in Plymouth and another school in Devon to take part in a Cued Speech Day.  The Cued Speech Organisation set up activities for the children to take part in, for the children to advance their understanding and use of Cued Speech in their own literacy development.  It was an enjoyable day for everyone and most importantly it allowed the St. Margaret's children to meet deaf children from other schools, some of whom have different support needs and communication modes from those at St. Margaret's
