Local History Project Competition - 27.11.19
While your children will be working on their reading, spellings and times tables at home, we would also like to offer a voluntary homework project to those who are interested. This is to help inspire a love and interest in learning, just for the sake of learning. It is open to all children of all ages. Each term there will be a different theme. This term the theme is Local History.
Children can choose any medium to produce any type of project e.g. through art work, models, poems, stories, interactive, IT, craft, webpage, facts and figures. Anything goes. Final projects will be judged for child-input, effort and creativity. There will be prizes for the winners and a special ‘tea-party’ for all the children who take part. We are using this opportunity to help make links with the older generation. We will be joined by residents from Dunboyne Court, the local retirement home, who will be the judges and hold the ‘tea-party’. Making connections and doing things for others are two important aspects to keeping our brain’s healthy. Completed projects should be brought into school on the morning of Wednesday 27th November (not before please). After school, you will have a chance to have a look at the entries and see the winners on display in the Woodland Den.
