The children are still loving the junk modelling area of the classroom and it can be hard to keep up with the demand but, luckily for us, we have fantastic parents that help in keeping us well-stocked!
To move this area of provision forward we are now encouraging the children to create a 'design' before they begin to create. This involves a simple drawing of what they want their end product to look like and consideration given to what they will need to bring this design to life. We also discuss with them ways they can make their final product look less like the box it was made out of e.g. by covering, turning the box inside out or even painting it.
